Clubfoot is a birth deformity and there are chances that the corrected foot goes back to the original deformed position. After correcting the clubfoot with the Ponseti method, to prevent the foot from going back to a disabled position, foot abduction braces are used. A special shoe is given not because there is any disability in the child, but to prevent any recurrence after the conservative treatment.
