Mobilizing the Frontlines: CURE India Conducts Critical Training Session in Cuttack to Equip ASHA Workers with Clubfoot Awareness

The key to reaching every child with curable clubfoot lies in empowering the local heroes who are already embedded in the community—our ASHA Workers. CURE India recently deepened this vital partnership in Odisha, where our dedicated team member, Ms. Subhadra Behera (Cuttack), successfully conducted an ASHA Training Meeting at Bhatimunda, attended by 31 dedicated participants.
This interactive session was strategically designed to build crucial awareness about clubfoot and other correctable childhood deformities. The core message emphasized the vital role of ASHA workers in the entire process: they are the eyes and ears of the healthcare system, positioned perfectly for early detection and prompt referral. By equipping them with the knowledge of how to identify clubfoot in newborns and infants, we are ensuring that precious time is not lost.
This grassroots training is essential to CURE India’s success, transforming community health workers into champions who guide vulnerable families towards the life-changing, non-surgical Ponseti method. This treatment is provided free of cost through the CURE India program, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent a child from achieving mobility.
As the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children globally, our impact relies on the dedication shown in places like Odisha. Our credibility as one of the Top 10 NGO's in the country is strengthened by these ground-level efforts and our unwavering transparency of fund usage. Every donation directly supports training sessions that bring us closer to a Clubfoot-Free India.
We are relentlessly working towards our ambitious RunFree2030 vision: to scale our efforts to treat 70% of children born with clubfoot in the next 5 years. Together with our ASHA partners, we are making strides toward a future where every child in Odisha walks with confidence and hope.
Join us in ensuring that no child is left untreated. You can support this life-changing work by making a donation or becoming a volunteer today at cure.org.in/donate.
