Early Detection, Brighter Futures: CURE India Takes Clubfoot Awareness Directly to Families and Medical Staff
The key to transforming a child’s life with clubfoot lies in one powerful action: timely intervention. To champion this cause, the CURE India team from Delhi recently embarked on a crucial mission, visiting a local diagnostic centre to proactively raise awareness about clubfoot. This congenital condition, which can be daunting for families, is completely treatable, enabling every child to walk, run, and play just like any other, but only if the correct steps are taken early.
This outreach was a hands-on effort to engage directly with both medical staff and expectant parents. Through meaningful interactions, our team powerfully emphasised the importance of early detection and immediate commencement of the non-surgical Ponseti method. We stressed that community awareness is the vital link to ensuring no child is left behind due to clubfoot—a condition that can be easily missed or misunderstood without proper education.
CURE India's success as the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children, is a testament to this proactive model. We don't wait for families to find us; we work tirelessly through our national presence to ensure every family knows that free treatment is available and highly effective.
