Beyond the Cast: Love, Laughter, and Friendship Bloom at Our Odisha Clinic

The clinical environment at a CURE India centre is often focused on the technical process of the Ponseti method—the gentle casting, manipulation, and the subsequent bracing—but the true success of our mission is measured in the smiles and giggles that fill the room. Today’s clinic session in Odisha offered one such heartwarming moment, proving that healing goes beyond treatment; it’s about love, laughter, and connection.
Our counsellor, Ms. Upasana (SPC), was at the centre of this endearing scene. A brave little clubfoot warrior, attending her weekly casting session, and a cheerful young boy, whose sister was admitted with a broken leg, formed an instant, sweet friendship. This week, they decided to adopt Ms. Upasana as their new best friend, firmly refusing to leave her lap!
These moments highlight the holistic care provided by our dedicated team, especially our counsellors. They form the emotional core of our clinics, ensuring that the families are supported and the children feel safe, comforted, and seen. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children, we understand that emotional security and a positive experience are crucial to treatment compliance.
CURE India’s focus on compassionate care fuels our expansive social impact. Our credibility as one of the Top 10 NGO's in the country is built on the transparency of our fund usage, ensuring that your donation not only provides free treatment but also supports the warm, nurturing environment fostered by our counsellors.
These scenes of pure joy remind us that we are not just correcting a deformity; we are giving children the chance to experience a carefree, confident childhood. We are dedicated to our ambitious RunFree2030 vision: scaling our efforts to treat 70% of children born with clubfoot in the next 5 years.
Together, we turn every step into a story of joy and hope. You can help us continue creating these precious moments of healing and happiness by making a donation or becoming a volunteer today at cure.org.in/donate.
