From First Casts to Confident Steps: Honouring the Coordinators Turning Hope into Reality Across India

In the world of social impact, we often talk about numbers—the number of clinics, the number of successful treatments, and the reach of a national program. But at the core of CURE India, there is a heartbeat that cannot be measured by statistics alone. It is the heartbeat of our State and District Disability Program Coordinators.
This December 2025, we are pausing to celebrate a remarkable milestone: the work anniversaries of our frontline champions, whose dedication spans from a single year to an incredible 14 years of service. These are the individuals who make CURE more than just an organization; they make it a family.
For a parent discovering that their child has been born with clubfoot, the world can suddenly feel very small and frightening. The journey from that initial moment of shock to the day their child runs across a playground is paved by the dedication of our coordinators.
They are the counselors who offer a steady hand when a mother is overwhelmed. They are the guides who explain the Ponseti method—the non-surgical, gold-standard treatment that involves a series of gentle manipulations and corrective plaster casts.
Our coordinators ensure that families understand every step of the process, including the transition to the FAB (Foot Abduction Brace), which is essential for maintaining correction and preventing relapse. Because CURE India provides Free Treatment, our coordinators remove the fear of financial ruin, replacing it with the promise of a future where every child can walk with dignity.
The longevity of our team is a testament to the credibility and culture of our mission. Many of our coordinators have been with us for over a decade, helping CURE India grow into the largest clubfoot program in the world. Their deep-rooted expertise has allowed us to achieve the milestone of having the most number of clubfoot children treated globally.
It is this sustained dedication that has led CURE India to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGO's in India/in the country. We understand that for our donors, transparency of fund usage is paramount. Our coordinators are the stewards of this transparency on the ground, ensuring that every Donation is translated into high-quality clinical care, essential medical supplies, and local awareness.
While we celebrate our "CURE Champions" this December, we also look toward the steep mountain we have yet to climb. Currently, CURE India is treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. While this is a monumental feat of social impact, our work is far from finished.
Under our RunFree2030 initiative, we are leveraging our vast national presence to scale up to reach 70% of children born with clubfoot in the next 5 years. To achieve this, we aren't just expanding our clinics; we are expanding our heart. We need more hands to apply the casts, more voices to counsel families, and more support from the public to fund this rapid growth.
The success stories you see—the children running, the parents smiling—are made possible because a coordinator was there to answer a call at 10 PM, or to travel to a remote village to find a child who missed their appointment.
To our coordinators celebrating 1, 5, 10, or 14 years: Thank you. You are the hands that change lives and the hearts that make hope walk. You have transformed challenges into possibilities and treatment into lifelong change.
As we move into 2026, we do so with the strength of your experience and the urgency of our mission. Together, we will ensure that every child in India has the chance to take their first step toward a bright and active future.
