The Guardians of Mobility: Celebrating the Heartbeat of CURE India’s Mission

This May 2026, we pause to celebrate a milestone that cannot be measured in numbers alone. We are honoring the remarkable journeys of our State and District Disability Program Coordinators (DPCs)—the true "CURE Champions" who serve as the operational and emotional backbone of our organization.

With tenures ranging from one year to an inspiring 14 years, these individuals are the reason thousands of children across the country have moved from the shadow of disability to the light of a mobile, dignified future.

More Than a Role: A Lifeline for Families

A diagnosis of clubfoot can be overwhelming for families, particularly those in underserved or rural areas. While the Ponseti method provides the medical solution, our coordinators provide the human connection required to ensure that treatment is successful.

Their work is a multi-layered commitment to social impact:

  • Counseling & Reassurance: Walking parents through the initial shock and explaining that clubfoot is 100% treatable.
  • Clinical Coordination: Working alongside medical professionals to ensure the precision of serial casting.
  • Milestone Celebration: Standing by the family from the very first cast to the moment the child is fitted with their Foot Abduction Brace (FAB).
  • Consistency: Ensuring that no child drops out of treatment, which is critical for preventing relapse.

As Dr. Santhosh George, Founder of CURE India, shares: “Our coordinators are the backbone of CURE India’s mission. Their consistency, compassion, and commitment ensure that no child with clubfoot is left untreated. Every year they serve strengthens our vision of a Clubfoot-Free India.”

A Legacy of Credibility and National Scale

The longevity of our staff is a testament to the credibility and culture of CURE India. As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, we pride ourselves on a mission that retains passionate talent. Our coordinators don't just "work" at CURE; they lead the largest clubfoot program in the world.

Year of Service MilestonesThe Impact of Dedication
1–5 YearsBuilding grassroots networks and strengthening early identification.
5–10 YearsMentoring new coordinators and optimizing regional clinic operations.
10–14 YearsShaping national policy and overseeing the treatment of thousands.

The Vision: RunFree2030

Our coordinators are the primary drivers of our RunFree2030 initiative. Currently, CURE India is treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. To reach our goal of 70% in the next 5 years, we rely on the expertise and local trust that our long-serving DPCs have built within their communities.

This scale is made possible by our supporters who value transparency of fund usage. When you contribute to CURE India, you are investing in the salaries of these experts, the medical materials they manage, and the Free Treatment that changes a child’s entire trajectory.

Saluting Our CURE Champions

To our coordinators: You are the hands that change lives and the hearts that make hope walk. Because of your unwavering commitment, the "CURE India model" has become a global benchmark for the most number of clubfoot children treated.

How You Can Honor Their Service:

  1. Donate: Support the mission these champions lead every day. Your donation provides the casts and braces (FAB) necessary for treatment. cure.org.in/donate.
  2. Volunteer: Join our network and learn from our coordinators how to advocate for disability rights in your local community.
  3. Spread the Word: Share this celebration to highlight the importance of frontline social workers in the fight against congenital disability.

Together, we celebrate the past 14 years of impact and look forward to the many miles of "running free" yet to come.
