From Systems to Stories: How Ranchi’s Strategic Training and New Partnerships are Accelerating the RunFree2030 Mission

In the vibrant city of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, a quiet but powerful revolution is taking place. While the state is known for its mineral wealth, CURE India (often known as CURE) is focused on a different kind of treasure: the health and future of its children. Recently, our Jharkhand team successfully concluded a focused two-day intensive staff training program, proving once again why CURE is recognized as one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India.
By bringing in experts from our National Office, we are ensuring that the children of Jharkhand receive the same world-class standard of care that has made us the largest clubfoot program in the world. This isn't just about medical procedures; it's about building a robust, transparent system that supports families from the moment of diagnosis to the child's first independent steps.
The core of our success lies in technical excellence. The training sessions, led by Mr. Mohammed Fakhrudeen and Mr. Shubham Shekhar, focused on the "gold standard" of clubfoot care: the Ponseti method. This non-surgical approach is what allows us to offer Free Treatment that is both effective and life-changing.
Key focus areas included:
With the most number of clubfoot children treated globally—over 125,000 success stories—CURE India's national presence ensures that every DPC in Jharkhand is an expert in these protocols.
As a Top 10 NGO in the country, we understand that our credibility is built on trust. This is why the training included a deep dive into HR and Finance modules, led by Mr. Prathap D G and Mr. Anand.
Operational efficiency isn't just about paperwork; it’s about transparency of fund usage. When a donor makes a donation to CURE India, they need to know that their contribution is being used effectively to heal a child. By strengthening our documentation and financial governance in Jharkhand, we are ensuring that every rupee translates into social impact. We don't just ask for support; we prove our worth through measurable, accountable systems.
Following the training, the team visited the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDI) in Ranchi. We were privileged to meet their respected General Manager, whose vision aligned perfectly with ours. He offered a brilliant suggestion: the development of a documentary highlighting a child’s treatment journey.
We believe that data convinces the mind, but stories move the heart. A documentary showing a child’s transition from a debilitating deformity to running freely is the ultimate advocacy tool. It would serve as a beacon of hope for other families in Jharkhand who might still be hiding their children away out of fear or stigma.
Why is this training in Ranchi so critical right now? Because we are on a deadline. Currently, CURE India is treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. While we are proud of our status as a leading non-profit, we recognize that 67% are still waiting.
Our RunFree2030 mission is our commitment to scale up to 70% coverage in the next 5 years. To reach that target, our state teams must be faster, more efficient, and more coordinated than ever before. Jharkhand is a vital piece of this national puzzle.
The work in Jharkhand is a reminder that healing is a collective effort. Whether you are a medical professional, a corporate donor, or a concerned citizen, there is a place for you in this mission:
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our Jharkhand team and the leadership of our National Office for their dedication. Together, we are building brighter futures, one step at a time. Let’s make India run free by 2030.
