PHC Outreach: Empowering Local Healthcare Heroes to Combat Clubfoot

In the mission to eliminate preventable disability, the Primary Health Centre (PHC) is where transformation begins. For families in rural India, these centers are the first point of contact for medical guidance, making them the most critical landscape for early intervention.
Recently, Ms. Roselin, our District Program Coordinator (DPC) for Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, led an impactful awareness session at a local PHC. Her mission was clear: equip frontline healthcare workers and community members with the knowledge to identify clubfoot and the confidence to seek immediate care.
Awareness at the grassroots level is about more than just providing facts; it is about changing mindsets. During the session, the discussion focused on three pillars of success:
When healthcare staff at the primary level are sensitized, the "referral chain" becomes unbreakable. By strengthening these early detection systems, CURE India ensures that treatment begins in the "golden window"—the earliest stages of infancy—leading to faster recovery and better long-term mobility.
These initiatives in Etawah are part of a larger movement. Every healthcare worker trained and every community member reached represents another child who will grow up to walk, run, and play without limitation.
We extend our gratitude to Ms. Roselin for her dedication and to the Etawah PHC staff for their commitment to inclusive healthcare.
Help us reach every district. Our goal is to ensure that no child in India is left behind due to a lack of awareness.
