Strengthening Care Across the Hills: CURE India Launches North East Programme Evaluation in Kohima

At CURE India, we know that expanding our reach is only half the battle; sustaining excellence in every clinic requires continuous learning, rigorous evaluation, and deep-seated team collaboration.

The journey began in the hills of Nagaland as CURE India officially commenced its intensive three-day North East Programme Evaluation & Staff Capacity Building initiative in Kohima. Bringing together our dedicated Clubfoot Counsellors from across the region, Day 1 set a powerful tone for reflection, strategic alignment, and growth.

Building Capacity at the Grassroots

Clubfoot counsellors are the vital emotional and operational bridge between families and clinical treatment. They guide parents through the uncertainties of diagnosis, explain the mechanics of the Ponseti method, and ensure families adhere to bracing schedules using Foot Abduction Braces (FABs).

The opening day focused on:

  • Programme Evaluation: Reviewing current implementation metrics to identify gaps and celebrate regional milestones.
  • Peer Learning & Field Insights: Sharing ground-level experiences from remote areas to tackle unique logistical and cultural challenges.
  • Skill Enhancement: Refining communication strategies to ensure parents feel fully supported from the first cast to the final bracing phase.

Expert Leadership and Guidance

The sessions were expertly facilitated by our leadership team:

  • Dr. Santhosh George, Director & Founder, CURE India
  • Dr. Atula Jamir, Program Manager
  • Mr. Anand, CURE India National Team

Their leadership drove insightful discussions on best practices in clubfoot management, data tracking, and staff development, ensuring that our regional teams are fully equipped to deliver world-class care.

"Together, we are building stronger programmes, empowering our teams, and creating brighter futures for children with clubfoot."

CURE India: Scaling Impact with Credibility

As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, CURE India operates the largest clubfoot program in the world. Our commitment to absolute transparency of fund usage and strict institutional credibility means that every capacity-building workshop directly strengthens our march toward our national target: treating 70% of all children born with clubfoot in India by 2030 (#RunFree2030).

How You Can Support the Mission:

  1. Support Our Teams: Your donations fund the travel, training modules, and logistical support required to run regional capacity-building programs in remote areas like the North East. Give today at cure.org.in/donate.
  2. Spread the Word: Help us raise awareness about clubfoot treatment. When communities know that effective care is available, children get treated earlier.
  3. Stay Connected: Follow our social media channels for Day 2 and Day 3 updates as we continue our journey across Nagaland!

Together, we are empowering our teams to ensure that no child in the North East is left behind.
