Reinforcing the Foundation: How Local Health Collaborations in Aravalli are Driving CURE India’s Vision for a Clubfoot-Free Future

In the landscape of public health, the most profound changes often begin with a simple meeting, an official handshake, and a shared commitment to a child’s future. Recently, our District Program Coordinator (DPC) from Himmatnagar, Gujarat, carried out an essential visit to the Aravalli District Taluka Health Officer (THO) Office and the local Trust Hospital.
While these on-ground interactions may seem modest in scale, they are the vital "small steps" that strengthen the very fabric of clubfoot care in India. By reinforcing our coordination with local health authorities, CURE India ensures that the path from a child’s birth to their first successful step is seamless, supported, and sustainable.
The challenge of eradicating disability from clubfoot is not just a medical one; it is a systemic one. For a child to receive Free Treatment, they must first be identified and referred to the right facility. By engaging with THO offices and Trust Hospitals, CURE India creates a "safety net" of awareness.
When local health authorities are aligned with our mission, the identification of clubfoot becomes a priority at the primary healthcare level. This leads to early intervention, which is the single most important factor in a successful recovery. For families in Gujarat, this means that the moment a child is born with clubfoot, the system is already prepared to guide them toward a cure.
At every hospital we visit and every clinic we support, our focus remains on the Ponseti method. This non-surgical, globally recognized gold standard is the heartbeat of our clinical work. It involves:
Because we provide this as Free Treatment, we remove the financial barriers that often lead to lifelong disability. At CURE, we believe that a child’s ability to walk should never depend on their family’s bank account.
CURE India is proud to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGO's in India/in the country. This recognition is a reflection of our credibility and our commitment to the transparency of fund usage. As a donor, you deserve to know that your Donation is making a direct, tangible difference.
We currently lead the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children globally. Our national presence—spanning over 460 clinics—is only possible because of the trust placed in us by the government, our medical partners, and our supporters. Every local visit in a district like Aravalli is an exercise in maintaining that trust and ensuring our clinical standards remain the best in the world.
Our work in Gujarat is a vital piece of a much larger puzzle. The social impact we have created so far is immense, but the journey ahead is even more ambitious.
To jump from 33% to 70% coverage, we must multiply our on-ground efforts. We need more DPCs visiting more health offices, more hospitals adopting the Ponseti method, and more members of the general public joining our cause. This scale-up is an urgent necessity—every day we wait is a day a child might miss their window for easy, non-surgical correction.
Whether you are a medical professional looking to support our clinical efforts, a parent seeking guidance, or a donor wanting to create a lasting legacy, your role is crucial.
The "small steps" taken in Aravalli are moving us steadily towards a clubfoot-free future. With your help, those steps will soon turn into the confident strides of thousands of children across India.
Together, let’s make hope walk.
