Holistic Outreach: CURE India Goes Door-to-Door in Kolhapur, Ensuring Every Family Receives Clubfoot Care and Guidance

The transformation of a child with clubfoot relies not just on clinical expertise, but on unwavering, personalized community support. Highlighting this holistic approach, our dedicated CURE India team member, Ms. Ekata Sawant, recently completed a crucial outreach mission, conducting seven impactful visits across Kolhapur District, Maharashtra.
Ms. Sawant’s comprehensive itinerary demonstrated a commitment to reaching families wherever they are. Her visits spanned home calls, Anganwadi centres, sub-PHCs (Primary Health Centres), and critical touchpoints like maternity wards. This multi-faceted approach ensures that every child is identified early and every family receives the immediate right care and guidance about the life-changing, non-surgical Ponseti method.
From the rural corners of Panhala to the communities of Shahuwadi, each visit was a step towards spreading awareness, providing support, and nurturing hope for children born with clubfoot. By meeting parents and frontline health workers in their own spaces, we break down barriers of misinformation and fear, making the free treatment program accessible and understandable.
This intensive, community-focused work strengthens CURE India’s expansive national presence and fuels our massive social impact. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children, our efforts are concentrated on reaching children in every district. Our credibility as one of the Top 10 NGO's in the country is continuously affirmed by the diligent efforts of coordinators like Ms. Sawant and our commitment to transparency of fund usage.
We are dedicated to moving closer to our ambitious RunFree2030 vision: to scale our efforts and treat 70% of children born with clubfoot in the next 5 years. Every connection made—whether in a small village or a clinic—brings us closer to a world where every child walks with confidence and dreams without limits.
Join us in making these crucial connections. You can support this vital, on-the-ground work by making a donation or becoming a volunteer today at cure.org.in/donate.
