Scaling Excellence: CURE India Conducts 168th Ponseti Training at AIIMS Bhopal
Building a National Army of Experts: 80 Doctors Empowered to Eradicate Clubfoot Disability Across Madhya Pradesh.
At CURE India, we believe that the most effective way to reach every child is to empower every doctor. On July 4, 2026, we reached a major milestone by successfully concluding our 168th Training Program on the Ponseti Method of Clubfoot Management at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal.
Bridging the Knowledge Gap: 80 Champions for Change
The training brought together 80 doctors from across Madhya Pradesh, creating a powerful network of clinicians committed to standardizing clubfoot care. This cohort now carries the expertise required to identify, manage, and treat clubfoot using the Ponseti method—the global gold standard that prevents lifelong disability.
The program was curated for high-impact learning, featuring:
Expert Mentorship: Insights from Dr. Anil Agarwal (Specialist & Head, Dept. of Paediatric Orthopaedics, Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya, Delhi) and Dr. Prateek Behera (Additional Professor, AIIMS, Bhopal).
Theoretical Foundations: Comprehensive sessions on the biology of clubfoot and the necessity of early intervention.
Intensive Hands-on Workshops: Practical, supervised training in Ponseti casting, manipulation, and tenotomy techniques, ensuring doctors can confidently apply these skills in their home clinics.
CURE India: Institutional Credibility and Capacity Building
As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, CURE India is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between medical innovation and rural healthcare delivery. Our approach is grounded in:
Transparency of Fund Usage: Ensuring every donation maximizes clinical output, from casting materials to the training infrastructure provided at premier institutes like AIIMS.
The #RunFree2030 Vision: By systematically training healthcare professionals, we are scaling our national reach from 33% to 70% of all children born with clubfoot in India by 2030.
Organizational Excellence: A heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Kusum (State Program Coordinator) and Dr. Atula Jamir (National Program Manager) for their seamless coordination, which ensures our trainings are as efficient as they are transformative.
"Every trained doctor brings us one step closer to our vision of ensuring that every child born with clubfoot receives timely, high-quality treatment and the opportunity to walk, run, and thrive."
