Scaling Clinical Excellence: Strengthening Clubfoot Care in Bangalore

Professional training is the cornerstone of sustainable healthcare. While community awareness opens the door to treatment, it is the skill and precision of trained medical professionals that ensure a child’s journey from disability to mobility is successful.

On April 18, 2026, CURE India reached a significant milestone in medical capacity building. Under the visionary guidance of our Director, Dr. Santhosh George, we successfully conducted a specialized Ponseti Training Program in collaboration with the Department of Orthopaedics at Victoria Hospital, Bangalore.

Theoretical Excellence Meets Practical Precision

The program was designed to provide a 360-degree understanding of clubfoot management. Led by expert faculty members Dr. Abhishek Bhasme and Dr. Chandan, 50 dedicated participants engaged in an intensive curriculum that bridged the gap between classroom theory and clinical reality.

The core of the training focused on the Ponseti method, the globally recognized gold standard for clubfoot correction. Participants moved beyond textbooks to gain:

  • In-depth Theoretical Knowledge: Understanding the anatomy and mechanics of clubfoot correction.
  • Clinical Insights: Learning to navigate complex cases and long-term follow-up care.
  • Hands-on Experience: The highlight of the day was a live casting session where four children received treatment, providing participants with real-time exposure to the technique.

A Collaborative Success

A mission of this scale requires seamless teamwork. We extend our deepest gratitude to the leadership at Victoria Hospital, including Dr. Sharath Kumar (HoD) and Ms. Aradhana (In-charge), for their unwavering support and for hosting this vital initiative.

We also recognize Dr. Rudra Prasad for his instrumental role in deputing the expert faculty, and our own team members—Ms. Alagammai and Mr. Ravikumar (Regional Program Coordinator)—whose coordination ensured the program’s smooth execution.

Building Healthcare Capacity for the Future

By empowering 50 new practitioners with the skills to treat clubfoot effectively, we aren't just conducting a workshop—we are expanding the healthcare infrastructure of India. Every trained doctor represents hundreds of children who will now have access to life-changing care in their own communities.

Together, we are ensuring that every child born with clubfoot has the opportunity to walk, run, and thrive.

Invest in a child’s future. Your contributions help us fund these essential training programs and provide free treatment to those in need.
