Restoring Mobility: CURE India Organizes High-Impact Clubfoot Camp at District Hospital Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh

The mission to ensure every child walks free of disability took a powerful StepTowardsChange recently in Chhattisgarh, with CURE India successfully conducting a high-impact Clubfoot Camp at the DEIC, District Hospital Ambikapur, Surguja. The success of this essential event was anchored by the unwavering dedication of our District Program Coordinator, Ms Savita Yadav, whose efforts brought together vulnerable families and healthcare providers under one shared, hopeful mission: ensuring that every child with clubfoot receives timely and effective ClubfootTreatment. Bringing specialized care directly to the district level is a core pillar of our strategy, dismantling geographical and economic barriers to healing.

The atmosphere at the Ambikapur Clubfoot Camp was charged with hope and determination. For families often struggling to access specialized care in remote locations, the camp provided a much-needed lifeline. It served as a critical hub for initial assessment, expert guidance, and the commencement of the non-surgical Ponseti method of free treatment. The positive and encouraging feedback from the participants was a powerful validation of the impact of direct intervention—highlighting the transformation that occurs when awareness, specialized guidance, and compassionate support converge. This approach ensures that the path to a full, active life is clear from the moment of diagnosis, reinforcing that the dreams of EveryChildMatters.

This continuous commitment to grassroots service delivery is the engine of our operational credibility. We are honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that directly correlates with our status as the largest clubfoot program in the world, having successfully treated the most number of clubfoot children globally. The operation of camps like the one in Ambikapur is a direct extension of our massive national presence, proving that our resources, bolstered by the generosity of our donors, are invested where they matter most. Our adherence to the complete transparency of fund usage ensures that every contribution directly fuels this kind of crucial, on-the-ground social impact.

The success of this model is critical, yet the challenge ahead remains urgent. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. To achieve this monumental goal, we must significantly increase the frequency and reach of these district-level camps. This expansion requires sustained support to provide the necessary casting materials, specialized training, and dedicated coordinators like Ms. Yadav. We invite the general public, medical professionals, and donors to partner with us. Whether through a financial donation or dedicating your time to volunteer, your commitment ensures that the hope sparked in Ambikapur can be replicated across every district in India.

Together, we are building a future where no child’s dreams are limited by clubfoot. Join us in our shared mission to ensure that every step taken by these young champions is one of hope.
