Restoring Dignity and Hope: CURE India Celebrates the Vision of Mr. Ajjay Bhhatia and Pankh NGO

It was with great privilege and deep admiration that CURE India recently welcomed Mr. Ajjay Bhhatia, Former Additional Superintendent of Police, Central Jail, and the visionary Founder & Director of Pankh NGO. Mr. Bhhatia’s journey is a powerful demonstration of dedication, channeling years of experience toward a mission of mercy: rehabilitating children and teenagers, guiding them away from crime and towards hope, purpose, and dignity. His dedication to restoring the fundamental right of every child to a brighter future aligns seamlessly with our own mission of TransformingLives and YouthEmpowerment.

Mr. Bhhatia’s work with Pankh NGO epitomizes the vital role that holistic social intervention plays in nation-building. While CURE India focuses on correcting a physical disability like clubfoot using the non-surgical Ponseti method and providing free treatment, Pankh NGO addresses the complex layers of social vulnerability and exclusion that often trap marginalized youth. For a child born with clubfoot into a struggling family—the very families we serve—the absence of both physical function and social opportunity can be devastating. Our synergy is simple: we provide the ability to walk, and organizations like Pankh provide the path to walk on. The Pankh NGO Youth Rehabilitation program is thus a crucial partner in ensuring that our young patients, once physically healed, have the social tools and foundation necessary to truly dream, grow, and thrive.

This shared commitment to the most vulnerable populations reinforces the core of our operational credibility. CURE India is globally recognized as running the largest clubfoot program in the world, having successfully treated the most number of clubfoot children through our dedicated efforts across our massive national presence. We are immensely proud to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction earned by maximizing social impact and upholding the strictest standards of transparency of fund usage. Partnerships like this are essential to this credibility, demonstrating that every donation is invested in a comprehensive network designed to address the multifaceted needs of vulnerable children.

However, the need to expand this holistic safety net remains urgent. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. Achieving this goal requires sustained resources not only for clinical care but also for the community outreach and strategic partnerships that bring children from marginalized settings—including those Pankh NGO serves—into our care system. We invite all citizens, medical professionals, and donors to support this holistic vision. Your financial donation provides the infrastructure for our outreach, and your time as a volunteer helps us connect with vulnerable communities.

Together with visionary leaders like Mr. Ajjay Bhhatia, we believe in creating a world where every child receives not only the medical care they need but also the social support necessary to fulfill their potential.
