Walking with Dignity: Strengthening the Fight Against Clubfoot at Guru Gobind Singh Hospital Through RunFree2030

In the bustling heart of New Delhi, where every second counts and every step moves toward a faster future, a silent transformation is taking place for the youngest members of our society. On January 16, 2026, CURE India celebrated a major milestone in its mission to end childhood disability: the official reopening of the Clubfoot Clinic at Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, Raghubir Nagar.
This reopening is more than just a logistical update; it is a renewal of a promise made to families who often feel lost after a clubfoot diagnosis. As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, CURE India continues to expand its national presence, ensuring that specialized healthcare is not a luxury, but a right accessible to all.
The reopening ceremony was marked by a spirit of collaboration and deep medical commitment. We were honored by the presence of Dr. Satyendra Kumar (Medical Superintendent) and Dr. Rajesh Bilala (Deputy Medical Superintendent), whose leadership has been instrumental in making this clinic a reality once more.
A particularly moving moment occurred when the Hospital’s Head of Department formally handed over FAB (Foot Abduction Braces) to several children currently undergoing treatment. This simple gesture symbolizes the transition from a child being "bound" by a deformity to being "empowered" by mobility.
Behind the scenes, the reopening was driven by the tireless efforts of our Delhi team, led by Ms. Lalita (District Program Coordinator) and Ms. Rekha (State Program Coordinator). Their work ensures that the link between the hospital and the community remains unbreakable, providing a bridge of hope for every parent who walks through those doors.
At the core of the clinic’s operations is the Ponseti method, the globally recognized, non-surgical treatment for clubfoot. This method is a journey of precision and patience, involving a series of gentle manipulations and plaster casts that gradually correct the foot's position.
Once the correction is achieved, the FAB brace becomes the child's best friend. It is designed to hold the feet in the corrected position, preventing the deformity from recurring as the child grows. By providing Free Treatment and high-quality braces, CURE removes the financial burden that so often forces families to discontinue care. This commitment to "no-cost" excellence is what has made us the largest clubfoot program in the world, with the most number of clubfoot children treated globally.
CURE India’s work in Delhi is a vital artery in a massive national heart. Currently, we are proud to be treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. While this achievement is significant, our mission is far from over.
Through our RunFree2030 initiative, we are scaling up to 70% in the next 5 years. Reopening clinics like the one at Guru Gobind Singh Hospital is a critical part of this expansion. By embedding our services within established government hospitals, we ensure that the most vulnerable populations receive world-class care in a sustainable, long-term environment.
In a country with thousands of organizations, CURE India is consistently recognized among the Top 10 NGO's in the country. This recognition is built on two pillars: credibility and transparency of fund usage.

The reopening of the Delhi clinic is a victory, but the road to 2030 requires your support. Whether you are a member of the general public, a medical professional, or a corporate leader, your contribution matters.
Together, we are not just fixing feet; we are restoring futures. Let’s make every step count.
