Reaching the Roots: CURE India's Mission for a Clubfoot-Free India in Remote Villages

Spreading Hope, One Step at a Time: CURE India's Reach into Rural Communities

At CURE India, we believe every child deserves the chance to walk, run, and live a life free from the limitations of clubfoot. This belief drives our relentless efforts to reach even the most remote corners of the country, building a future where no child is left behind. A recent outreach program on July 18, 2025, at the Borchak Anganwadi Centre in Nawapur, Maharashtra, beautifully exemplifies this commitment.

Our dedicated team arrived at the Anganwadi centre with a clear mission: to raise crucial awareness about clubfoot, emphasize the vital importance of early identification, and inform families about the free treatment available through CURE India's extensive network of clinics. This wasn't just about sharing information; it was about planting seeds of hope in a community that might otherwise lack access to such life-changing knowledge.

A volunteer, deeply passionate about CURE India's cause, engaged directly with local families and Anganwadi workers. They explained in detail how timely intervention, particularly through the globally recognized Ponseti method, can completely transform the life of a child born with clubfoot. This gentle, non-surgical treatment, when started early, offers a remarkable success rate, allowing children to develop normally and walk with confidence. For families in these areas, understanding that this effective treatment is not only available but also free is a game-changer.

CURE India's presence extends across the nation, making us the largest clubfoot program in the world. We have treated the most number of clubfoot children globally, making a profound social impact on countless lives. Our national presence and the dedication of our field teams mean we can reach grassroots community spaces like the Anganwadi centre in Borchak, especially in remote tribal regions. This direct engagement is crucial for building stronger referral pathways. It ensures that healthcare workers and community leaders are equipped to identify clubfoot early and guide families towards our clinics, guaranteeing that every child receives the care they need.

We are incredibly proud to be recognized among the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India. This acknowledgment underscores our unwavering credibility and our steadfast commitment to transparency of fund usage. Every donation to CURE India directly contributes to providing free treatment to children who desperately need it. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India, and our ambitious goal through RunFree2030 is to scale this up to 70% in the next five years. This vision of a Clubfoot-Free India is only possible with the support of generous individuals and organizations.

"Because every step matters," we urge you to join us in this vital mission. Your support, whether through a donation or by becoming a volunteer, can literally put a child on the path to a healthy, active future. Imagine the joy of a child taking their first confident steps, knowing you played a part in making it happen.
