Educating the Educators: Hazaribagh Awareness Drive Targets Schools and Anganwadis for Early Clubfoot Detection

The fight against preventable disability is a journey that starts in the classroom and the community. Recently, the dedicated CURE India team, led by District Program Coordinator Ms. Bahalen Tirkey, executed a vital awareness drive across schools and Anganwadis in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. This strategic outreach is a crucial step toward ensuring EveryChildMatters and receives the care they deserve, reinforcing our unwavering belief that early action is the key to preventing a lifetime of disability.
The focus of the Hazaribagh Awareness Drive was the core principle of Early Detection and the accessibility of free treatment. Schools and Anganwadis serve as the most crucial community touchpoints, and by engaging these institutions, we effectively embed our ClubfootAwareness message where it is most needed.
The visit included:
This comprehensive approach in Jharkhand is designed to eliminate the silent suffering caused by clubfoot and ensure a ChildHealth outcome that guarantees mobility.
This meticulous community engagement is a direct reflection of our organizational credibility and commitment to social impact.
Despite this progress, the mission remains urgent. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our ambitious RunFree2030 goal is to scale up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. Achieving this requires replicating the Hazaribagh Awareness Drive across every district. We need your partnership to train more DPCs like Ms. Bahalen Tirkey and provide the resources for their field work.
We invite the general public, medical professionals, and donors to partner with us. Whether through a financial donation or dedicating your time to volunteer, your commitment fuels our ability to transform futures.
Together, we can create a future where no child suffers silently. We Care.
