Building a Safety Net of Care: How CURE India’s Outreach in Andhra Pradesh Connects Every Child to the Gift of Movement.

In the pursuit of the #RunFree2030 vision, our most impactful work happens where communities live, learn, and grow. Today, in Parvathipuram, Andhra Pradesh, our District Programme Coordinator (DPC), Ms. K. Swapna, executed a comprehensive awareness drive designed to bridge the gap between early identification and specialized clinical care. By covering schools, Anganwadi centres, and local health facilities, we are building a robust safety net to ensure that no child with clubfoot goes unnoticed.
The initiative focused on embedding clubfoot awareness into the daily fabric of the community. Key locations included:
By engaging with teachers, Anganwadi workers, and healthcare professionals, we are ensuring that the entire community—from the classroom to the clinic—is equipped to spot the signs of clubfoot and facilitate the correct referral pathway.
The success of CURE India’s program relies on the "early and often" approach. Children treated within their first few weeks of life achieve the best clinical outcomes. By sensitizing our partners in Maripivalasa to the Ponseti method, we are guaranteeing that families are not just told their child has a condition, but are immediately connected to a sustainable, non-surgical treatment path.
As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, CURE India is recognized not only for the largest clubfoot program in the world but for our deep commitment to institutional transparency of fund usage.
We extend our sincere thanks to the school authorities, Anganwadi workers, and healthcare professionals who opened their doors to us today. Your collaboration is the catalyst that allows us to reach those most in need.
