Strengthening the Frontlines: Maharashtra Capacity Building Training Boosts ClubfootCare for Thousands

From September 11th to 12th, CURE India took a vital step in fortifying the core of its operations by conducting a comprehensive Program Evaluation and Capacity Building Training in Pune. This essential gathering brought together our dedicated counsellors, regional leaders, and field mobilisers from across Maharashtra, the very people who stand on the frontline of our mission every single day. The training served as a crucial platform to reflect, learn, and strengthen our strategies, ensuring that every child born with clubfoot receives timely ClubfootCare and unwavering support. By investing deeply in the skills and strategies of our people, we are directly investing in the future of thousands of children, fulfilling our promise to make sure no child is left behind.
The role played by our counsellors and mobilisers is perhaps the most essential, yet often unseen, component of our success. They are the compassionate link between the clinic and the families, responsible for community-level early detection, guiding parents through the non-surgical Ponseti method, and ensuring long-term adherence to the treatment plan. This intensive Maharashtra Capacity Building Training focused on enhancing their abilities to handle complex cases, improve follow-up rates, and provide robust emotional support—all vital elements of our successful free treatment model. Ensuring excellence at this level is paramount for our entire national program.
This internal commitment to quality assurance reinforces our global standing and credibility. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children, and our success is inextricably linked to the rigorous standards we maintain across our massive national presence. We are profoundly honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that is a direct result of our commitment to transparency. The training held in Pune is an example of how we proactively ensure the ethical and effective transparency of fund usage, maximizing the social impact of every resource entrusted to us.
Our work is driven by an urgent and inspiring vision. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This level of expansion demands not only new clinics but also a constant investment in the capacity of our team, as demonstrated by the Pune training. We need the continued support of compassionate citizens and donors to sustain these vital training programs and expand our outreach to vulnerable families. Whether through a financial donation or dedicating your time to volunteer, your support provides the essential resources to build stronger foundations for impact, excellence, and hope.
Together, we are building stronger foundations for impact, excellence, and hope, ensuring that every child walks into a brighter future.
