Hope for Every Child: Why Warangal Clubfoot Awareness is Crucial for Integrated Child Health

The future of Child Health in India rests on the foundation of early intervention and persistent community support. CURE India is proud to spotlight the tireless work of our dedicated team member, Ms. Uma from MGMH Warangal, Telangana, who has successfully orchestrated a comprehensive series of awareness programmes across the region. Her grassroots effort has successfully penetrated multiple crucial touchpoints—including Anganwadi Centres, PHCs, Primary & High Schools, and Clinics—ensuring that the message of hope and the availability of free treatment for clubfoot are delivered directly to the communities most in need. This integrated approach demonstrates why AwarenessMatters in the fight against preventable disability.
The effectiveness of the Warangal Clubfoot Awareness campaign lies in its multi-faceted strategy. These impactful sessions go far beyond simple education. They encompass every essential aspect of life-long ClubfootCare, including the precise instructions for Clubfoot treatment & care using the globally recognized Ponseti method, and the subsequent provision of the essential FAB (Foot Abduction Brace) distribution to prevent relapse. Critically, Ms. Uma and her team provide in-depth Counselling for parents & caregivers, offering the emotional and practical support necessary for long-term adherence. This is complemented by necessary Home visits for continuous support, which strengthens the bond of trust with families and ensures no child misses a vital stage of treatment. Furthermore, our strategic collaboration with RBSK & DEIC (Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram and District Early Intervention Centres) integrates our specialized ClubfootCare into the existing government framework for InclusiveCare, maximizing our reach and effectiveness.
This commitment to meticulous, integrated care is the bedrock of our organizational credibility. We are not just an NGO; we are a massive movement for social impact. We are globally recognized as the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children and transformed countless lives. Our ability to execute complex, multi-touchpoint campaigns across our extensive national presence is why we are consistently ranked as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India. The transparency in how we operate, coupled with the complete transparency of fund usage, assures our donors that their contributions directly support dedicated field teams like the one in Warangal, enabling this essential work.
Yet, despite the victories celebrated in Telangana, the task ahead remains urgent and requires a collective push. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This aggressive expansion relies heavily on increasing the number of dedicated coordinators, volunteers, and the resources necessary to fuel these grassroots awareness drives across the country. We invite the public, medical professions, and donors to become active partners in SavingSmiles. Your generous donation provides the mobility and materials for our teams, and your time as a volunteer helps us amplify the message of HopeForEveryChild.
Together, through dedicated fieldwork and strategic partnerships, we are building a brighter future where no child’s potential is limited by clubfoot disability.
