CURE India, Davanagere, conducted an Identification Camp on Clubfoot and Disability Awareness on 18 September 2026 at GMHPS School, Bharamasagar, Davanagere District, Karnataka.
The camp brought together students, teachers, parents, and elderly participants to raise awareness about clubfoot, early identification, timely treatment, rehabilitation services, and assistive devices for persons with disabilities and elderly persons.
The camp featured an important awareness session led by Smt. Sharadha N. from CURE India, focusing on clubfoot and the importance of recognizing its early signs.
Parents and teachers were guided on how early identification can help children access appropriate treatment at the right time. The session also highlighted how timely treatment can support children in developing normal walking and mobility.
Alongside clubfoot awareness, participants were also informed about available rehabilitation services and free assistive devices for persons with disabilities and elderly persons.
Sharing information about these services can help individuals and families understand the support available to them and connect with appropriate resources.
The programme was attended by Sh. Rashid (SDMC), Smt. Anupurna A. (In-charge Headmistress), Sh. Raju Naik (Assistant Teacher), Smt. Dhil Darban (Senior Teacher), and Smt. Pushpa B.M. (BERT), along with students, teachers, parents, and other participants.
A total of 60 participants benefited from the camp, making it an important opportunity to strengthen awareness about clubfoot and disability-related support within the community.
Early identification is an important step in helping children with clubfoot access appropriate care. Raising awareness among parents, teachers, and community members can help ensure that children are identified and referred for treatment without unnecessary delays.
The programme also highlighted the importance of ensuring that persons with disabilities and elderly individuals are aware of rehabilitation services and assistive devices available to support mobility and independence.
