From Home Visits to Anganwadi Centres: How One-on-One Connections are Securing a Mobile Future for Children in Telangana.

In the mission to eradicate disability caused by clubfoot, the most profound breakthroughs often happen far from the clinical environment—in the homes of families and the vibrant spaces of local Anganwadi Centres. Recently, our dedicated District Programme Coordinator (DPC) for Adilabad, Ms. Vijayalaxmi, demonstrated the power of this direct, community-based approach, ensuring that hope and healthcare reach every doorstep in Telangana.
Ms. Vijayalaxmi’s recent outreach involved two critical components:
By meeting families where they live and where their children learn, we remove the barriers—both geographical and psychological—that often prevent parents from seeking life-changing treatment.
We owe a significant debt of gratitude to the Anganwadi Worker at Shyampur. Frontline workers like her are the vital link in our referral chain. Her commitment to connecting families with healthcare services is the reason many children in the Adilabad region have the opportunity to access the Ponseti method—the global gold standard for non-surgical clubfoot treatment.
"When communities, frontline workers, and healthcare teams work together, hope reaches every doorstep. Every home visit and every outreach session is a step toward a disability-free childhood."
As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, CURE India is built on institutional credibility and a radical transparency of fund usage. We operate the largest clubfoot program in the world, and our work in Telangana is a key component of our national strategy:
The success in Adilabad is just one example of the ripple effect created by dedicated field outreach. You, too, can be a part of this journey toward mobility:
