Mobilizing Community Health: CURE India Conducts Critical Awareness Session with ASHA Workers in Jodhpur, Rajasthan

The key to reaching every child born with clubfoot lies in empowering the dedicated frontline workers who are the backbone of community healthcare. This mission was recently championed in Rajasthan, where our team member, Ms. Ranjana Dickenson, SPC, led an impactful awareness session at the Shahri Samudayik Swasthya Kendra, Residency, Jodhpur. The session saw the active engagement of 15 dedicated ASHA workers.
The objective was straightforward yet vital: to equip these community heroes with the knowledge necessary to transform lives. The training focused on sharing crucial, actionable information about clubfoot and other correctable childhood deformities. ASHA workers, with their close connection to families and newborns, are essential for early detection and ensuring children are immediately referred to receive the life-changing, non-surgical Ponseti method.
Their enthusiasm and active participation during the training made the learning experience truly meaningful, underscoring their commitment to child health. This collaboration strengthens awareness at the grassroots level, ensuring that no child in Jodhpur misses the critical window for treatment.
This dedicated outreach reinforces CURE India’s massive social impact and national reach. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children, our efforts rely heavily on these partnerships. Our credibility as one of the Top 10 NGO's in the country is consistently affirmed by this tireless work and our commitment to transparency of fund usage. We provide this care as free treatment, but without the dedication of ASHA workers, many children would be left behind.
We are dedicated to moving closer to our ambitious RunFree2030 vision: scaling our efforts to treat 70% of children born with clubfoot in the next 5 years.
Together, we are strengthening awareness at the grassroots level, ensuring every child gets the chance to walk, run, and thrive! You can support this life-changing community outreach by making a donation or becoming a volunteer today at cure.org.in/donate.
