Grassroots Empowerment: CURE India's Odisha Clubfoot Awareness Session with ASHA Workers

At CURE India, we understand that the true strength of our mission lies in the hands of the community. We are committed to empowering those at the grassroots level who serve as the first point of contact for countless families. Recently, our team, under the leadership of Ms. Suswapna Das (DPC), organized a crucial Odisha Clubfoot Awareness session with ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) sisters during the ASHA sector meeting at Basanti Sindhia PHC in Baleshwar, Odisha.

The ASHA sisters are the invaluable backbone of community health in India. They play a key role in identifying newborns with birth defects like clubfoot and are often the first to guide families toward timely and effective treatment. By empowering them with knowledge, confidence, and the resources to communicate the right information, we are not just raising awareness; we are building a sustainable pathway to healing. This proactive approach helps to dismantle social stigmas and ensures that children receive the care they need early, when the gentle, non-surgical Ponseti method is most effective. Together, we are shaping a world where no child suffers due to untreated clubfoot.

A Credible and Transparent Mission

This grassroots initiative in Odisha is a cornerstone of our strategic efforts for a nationwide impact. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children, and our robust national presence with 452 clinics is a testament to our reach. Our work is not possible without the support of our incredible community of donors.

We are honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that speaks volumes about our credibility and our profound commitment to the transparency of fund usage. Your generous donation is the engine that powers these vital awareness sessions, allowing us to provide free treatment to children and their families who need it most. By investing in the education of community health workers, you are investing in a future where every child can walk, run, and thrive.

Uniting for a Clubfoot-Free Future with RunFree2030

Our work is driven by an urgent and inspiring vision for the future. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. We firmly believe that this is not a goal we can achieve alone. It requires the collective effort of dedicated community health workers, our government partners, medical professionals, and compassionate individuals like you.

By strengthening awareness at the grassroots, we are ensuring that we can reach more children, more effectively, and more quickly. Your partnership is crucial to making a lasting difference and ensuring that every child has the chance to walk with confidence and dignity.

Join us in our mission to heal little feet and transform lives. Your support is vital to creating a healthier, more inclusive India. Donate today at cure.org.in/donate.
