Global Compassion in Action: Kenyan Students Explore Volunteering with CURE India

We were delighted to welcome a truly inspiring group of international students from Kenya, currently studying at Delhi University, who visited our office to explore the possibility of volunteering with CURE India. This visit was a powerful affirmation of the true spirit of Global Impact and collaboration, highlighting that the challenge of clubfoot is a universal one that demands a universal response. Their immediate interest in serving children with clubfoot and committing their time to the cause reflects a deep global compassion, demonstrating that the mission to ensure every child walks free transcends borders and cultures. This kind of international engagement strengthens our organization, bringing new perspectives and diverse talents to our life-changing work in India.

The students’ enthusiasm to become VolunteerForChange is particularly vital to our efforts. They recognize that the simplicity and effectiveness of the Ponseti method—the globally accepted standard for free treatment of clubfoot—makes it a model for social impact that can be scaled internationally. Their dedication to supporting the families we serve through our robust national presence network reminds us that every individual contribution, whether local or international, is essential to achieving our goals. By dedicating their time to Global Volunteering Clubfoot initiatives, these future leaders are investing not just in India’s children, but in setting a precedent for addressing treatable disabilities worldwide, reinforcing the theme of Walking Free.

This growing interest in our work on a global scale is a testament to the unshakeable credibility and ethical foundation of CURE India. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children and transformed countless lives. We are immensely proud to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that is a direct reflection of our commitment to the utmost transparency of fund usage. The trust placed in us by international partners and individuals like these students from Kenya is what allows us to confidently pursue our goal of eradicating clubfoot disability across the country.

Our collective action is driven by an urgent and inspiring vision. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. To achieve this monumental task, we need the energy, dedication, and passion of individuals like these Kenyan students. Whether through volunteering their time or providing the financial backing required to expand our clinics and training programs, every effort pushes us closer to our national target. We invite the global community to join this spirit of compassion.

Together, we can create a world where every child walks free. Your support is crucial to making this vision a reality.
