Closing the Gap in Clubfoot Care: How the New Anuppur Clinic is Securing Lifelong Results Through the RunFree2030 Mission

In the fight against childhood disability, every new clinic is a lighthouse of hope for families who previously lived in the shadow of uncertainty. CURE India is proud to announce the initiation of a dedicated CTEV (Clubfoot) Clinic at the District Hospital in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh. This expansion represents more than just a new location; it is a critical reinforcement of our commitment to ensuring that no child in India is left behind due to a treatable deformity.
Supported by the expertise of the hospital's Orthopaedic Department, this clinic is designed to solve the most significant challenge in clubfoot management: treatment drop-outs. As one of the Top 10 NGO's in India, CURE India (or simply CURE) understands that straightening a child's feet is a marathon, not a sprint. With the launch of this clinic, we are ensuring that families in Anuppur have a partner for every step of that journey.
A common tragedy in clubfoot care is the "relapse." Many families believe the journey is over once the final plaster cast is removed. However, without consistent follow-up and bracing, the feet can slowly turn back to their original position.
At the Anuppur District Hospital, our dedicated CURE Counsellor provides the essential "human bridge" between medical procedure and long-term success. Under the field support of our dedicated team member, Ms. Sunaina Chohatha (DPC from Shahdol District), the clinic will provide:
We extend our deepest gratitude to Ms. Sunaina Chohatha for her tireless dedication and field support in strengthening these services in the Anuppur region.
For medical professionals and parents alike, it is important to understand why the Anuppur clinic is so vital. We utilize the Ponseti method, the non-surgical gold standard for clubfoot treatment. This method involves a series of gentle manipulations and weekly plaster casts.
However, the real "hero" of long-term mobility is the FAB (Foot Abduction Brace). Many children in rural India complete their casting but lose their progress because they cannot access or afford these specialized braces. CURE India eliminates this barrier by providing Free Treatment and free braces to every child. By ensuring the "complete" treatment cycle is followed, we aren't just fixing feet; we are protecting a child's future.
CURE India currently manages the largest clubfoot program in the world, having documented the most number of clubfoot children treated globally—over 118,000 lives transformed and counting. This national presence allows us to bring world-class clinical standards to District Hospitals like Anuppur.
But our vision is even bolder. Through our RunFree2030 mission, we are working toward a day when clubfoot disability is eradicated from India entirely.
Our Roadmap to 2030: Currently, CURE India is treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our goal is to scale up to 70% in the next 5 years. Every new clinic, like the one in Anuppur, is a brick in the foundation of this national goal.
Being recognized as one of the Top 10 NGO's in the country is a testament to our credibility and our results. For our donors and the general public, we maintain a standard of absolute transparency of fund usage. We know that when you give, you want to see a life changed.
