Expanding Accessible Horizons: CURE India Champions Inclusion at Kirori Mal College

The campus of Kirori Mal College (KMC), University of Delhi, recently became a hub of transformative dialogue as it hosted Accessible Horizons 2026. Organized by the Centre for Disability Research and Training (CDRT) in collaboration with Saksham and NCPEDP, the event served as a powerful platform for advancing disability inclusion. For CURE India, this was more than an event; it was a testament to our holistic vision where physical mobility is the foundation for a life of dignity and opportunity.

As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, CURE India (often referred to as CURE) participated with a clear message: inclusion begins with healthcare but must extend into every sphere of life—from the arts to the classroom.

Awareness at the Core: Tackling Clubfoot (CTEV)

Our stall at the event was a center of high-energy engagement, managed by our dedicated interns from Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Ms. Monika Sharma and Ms. Kiran, alongside National Team Member Ms. Shruthy Sebastian. Their mission was to educate the next generation of leaders and medical professionals about Clubfoot (CTEV).

The team emphasized that clubfoot is not just a medical condition; it is a hurdle that can be completely cleared through early intervention and the Ponseti method. Visitors learned about the critical "full protocol," which includes:

  • Serial Casting: The gentle correction of the foot.
  • Brace Compliance: The consistent use of the FAB (Foot Abduction Brace) to prevent relapse.
  • Free Treatment: Our promise that no family is ever turned away due to financial constraints.

By bringing this knowledge to a university setting, we are ensuring that future policymakers and educators understand that a child born with clubfoot today can be a university student tomorrow—if we act early.

Innovation in Expression: AXI and #We10

Beyond the clinic, CURE India showcased its commitment to broader social impact through two distinct initiatives:

  1. AXI – Powered by CURE India: We highlighted our inclusive art initiative where visually impaired individuals engage in artistic expression through accessible interfaces. This reinforces our belief that while we work to heal the body, we must also nourish the spirit and provide platforms for creative dignity.
  2. #We10 – Children in India: This ambitious initiative is focused on bringing differently-abled children into mainstream education. Through awareness, support systems, and advocacy, #We10 seeks to dismantle the barriers that keep children out of schools. We believe that physical mobility gained through our clubfoot program is the first step toward the classroom door.

Leadership with a Vision: Dignity and Equal Opportunity

A proud moment for the organization was the involvement of our Director, Santhosh George, who was invited for the Lamp Lighting Ceremony and participated in the Panel Discussion. Addressing the gathered youth, he reinforced that accessibility is not a "favor" but a fundamental right.

His address focused on the transition from "treatment" to "empowerment." For CURE India, the goal is not just straight feet; it is an empowered individual who lives with the same confidence and opportunity as any other citizen. This philosophy has helped us build our national presence and maintain our status as a Top 10 NGO in the country.

RunFree2030: Scaling a National Miracle

CURE India is proud to manage the largest clubfoot program in the world, having documented the most number of clubfoot children treated globally (over 125,000 success stories by 2026). However, the work is far from finished.

Currently, CURE India is treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our RunFree2030 mission is our roadmap to bridge the remaining gap. Within the next 5 years, we are scaling up to 70% coverage across the nation. Events like Accessible Horizons are vital for this scale-up because they build the community support and volunteer networks necessary to reach every district.

Credibility, Transparency, and Your Contribution

To our donors and the general public, we understand that your support is rooted in trust. CURE India maintains absolute transparency of fund usage. Whether it is manufacturing a FAB brace or funding an inclusive art workshop, every donation is an investment in a tangible outcome.

Our credibility as a Top 10 NGO comes from our results: children who were once unable to walk are now running, learning, and thriving. We invite you to join this movement:

  • Donation: Your financial support enables our "Free Treatment" model to reach the furthest corners of India. Support the RunFree2030 Mission.
  • Volunteer: We ask people to volunteer their time, especially students and professionals who can help us in our advocacy for mainstream education and early identification.
  • Advocate: Share the story of CURE. Help us ensure that no child with clubfoot goes unnoticed.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Someshwar Sati and the team at CDRT, Kirori Mal College, for their warm invitation and steadfast commitment to inclusion. Together, we are expanding horizons and ensuring every child walks with confidence and every individual lives with dignity.
