From Chennai to the Hinterlands: How Professional Excellence and Strategic Training are Fueling the RunFree2030 Mission in Tamil Nadu

In the heart of South India’s medical hub, the mission to end childhood disability has received a powerful new surge of energy. While clinical expertise is abundant in Tamil Nadu, the challenge of Clubfoot requires a specialized, system-driven approach that follows a child from birth through to their final steps of recovery.
From 23rd to 25th February 2026, CURE India was proud to host our dedicated Tamil Nadu (Chennai) team for a 3-day intensive staff training program at our National Office. Under the strategic mentorship of our Director, Dr. Santhosh George, and the National Team, this program was designed to ensure that the "Chennai standard" of care remains a gold standard for the entire country.
As one of the Top 10 NGO's in India, CURE India (or simply CURE) recognizes that our national presence is built on the expertise of our people. When our state teams grow stronger, the social impact is felt directly by the families who trust us with their children’s futures.
The training focused on the rigorous application of the Ponseti method, the globally recognized non-surgical gold standard for clubfoot correction. In Tamil Nadu, where healthcare expectations are high, our team engaged in deep-dive case discussions to ensure every child receives precise and timely casting.
However, the "cure" is about more than just the medical procedure. The 3-day program emphasized:
By aligning with these national standards, we provide Free Treatment that is not only accessible but also of the highest clinical quality.
CURE India is proud to manage the largest clubfoot program in the world, having documented the most number of clubfoot children treated globally—over 125,000 lives transformed and counting. This achievement has cemented our status as a Top 10 NGO in the country.
But our eyes are on the future. Currently, CURE India is treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our RunFree2030 initiative is our urgent roadmap to change this. Over the next 5 years, we are scaling up to 70% coverage nationwide.
To reach this 70% goal, our Tamil Nadu team must be more than just medical coordinators; they must be catalysts for state-level program implementation. Capacity building is the engine of this growth. When our teams are system-driven and skilled, we can find and treat every "missed" child, ensuring that disability is a thing of the past for the next generation of Tamil Nadu.
To our donors, medical professionals, and the general public: your support is what makes this professional training possible. We maintain absolute transparency of fund usage, and we believe that investing in "human capital"—the training of our coordinators—is one of the most effective ways to ensure your donation creates a permanent result.
When you support CURE India, you are funding:
Our credibility as a Top 10 NGO comes from the fact that we don't just "fix feet"—we build systems that ensure those feet stay straight for a lifetime.
The intensive training of our Tamil Nadu team is a reminder that we are all part of a larger, inclusive movement. We invite you to help us reach our RunFree2030 goals:
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Tamil Nadu team and the National Team for their dedication. Together, through professional excellence and collective action, we move closer to a future where no child lives with untreated clubfoot.
Let’s make India run free.
