200 Caregivers, One Goal: Strengthening Community Awareness to Ensure Every Child Walks Free Through RunFree2030

In the heart of Maharashtra, a powerful transformation is taking place. It isn’t happening in a high-tech lab or a corporate boardroom, but in a meeting room filled with 200 dedicated women—the Anganwadi Sevikas. These frontline workers are the pulse of rural India’s healthcare system, and they are now the newest champions in CURE India’s mission to eliminate disability caused by clubfoot.
As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, CURE India (often simply referred to as CURE) recognizes that the journey to a disability-free future begins with a single, informed referral. Our recent community outreach meeting in Jalna is a testament to the power of collective action and the urgent need for early intervention.
The success of any social impact initiative lies in its ability to reach the most remote families. The Anganwadi Sevika Meeting was a masterclass in community mobilization. Led by our District Program Coordinator (DPC), Ms. Pooja Sandeep Bhosle, and hosted by Ms. Khilare, the session was more than just a training—it was a call to arms.
We were deeply honored by the presence of Ms. Komal Kore, Adhikari, Zilla Parishad Jalna. Her support underscores the credibility of our work and the importance of government-NGO collaboration. When leaders at the Zilla Parishad level stand with CURE India, it sends a clear message: the health and mobility of our children are a national priority.
Clubfoot is a birth deformity that, if ignored, leads to permanent physical impairment. However, when caught early, it is entirely treatable. During the session, the 200 Sevikas were trained to identify the early signs of clubfoot and understand the critical window for treatment.
At CURE, we advocate for the Ponseti method, the world-renowned non-surgical gold standard for treating clubfoot. This method, involving gentle manipulation and casting followed by the use of a FAB (Foot Abduction Brace), ensures that a child can grow up to walk, run, and play just like any other.
Why does your support matter? CURE India currently manages the largest clubfoot program in the world. We have achieved the milestone of the most number of clubfoot children treated globally, but our work is far from over.
To reach this ambitious goal, we maintain a strict policy of transparency of fund usage. We want our donors to know that every donation is an investment in a child’s mobility. As one of the Top 10 NGO's in the country, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of accountability, ensuring that our Free Treatment model remains sustainable and effective.
The road to 2030 requires more than just medical expertise; it requires a movement.
The sight of 200 Anganwadi Sevikas learning how to save a child from a lifetime of disability is profoundly hopeful. It reminds us that while the challenge of clubfoot is vast, our resolve is stronger. Through RunFree2030, we are not just correcting feet; we are restoring futures and empowering families to dream big.
Join us in this mission. Let’s make India a place where no child is left behind because of a treatable condition.
