Mobilizing Local Heroes: CURE India Engages 35 ASHA Workers in Bhopal to Accelerate Early Detection of Clubfoot

The foundation of CURE India’s success lies in the strength of its community partnerships, particularly with dedicated frontline health workers. Today, our CURE India team reinforced this crucial bond by conducting an important awareness session during the ASHA meeting in Gandhi Nagar, Bhopal. The session saw the enthusiastic participation of 35 dedicated ASHA workers.
The objective of this meeting was clear and vital: to equip these local heroes with the knowledge necessary to transform lives. We discussed clubfoot, other correctable childhood deformities, and the paramount importance of early detection and timely referral. ASHA workers are trusted figures who interact directly with families, making them the most critical link in ensuring a child receives care immediately after birth.
Their active engagement during the session was a powerful demonstration of how strongly our community health workers are committed to creating healthier futures for children in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh. This commitment is the driving force behind our efforts to eliminate disability caused by correctable conditions.
This localized initiative is essential to CURE India’s massive social impact. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children, our expansive national presence depends on the efficacy of these grassroots awareness campaigns. Our credibility as one of the Top 10 NGO's in the country is validated by this tireless work and our commitment to transparency of fund usage.
We provide the life-changing, non-surgical Ponseti method as free treatment, but without the dedication of ASHA Workers, many children would miss this crucial window of opportunity.
We are dedicated to moving closer to our ambitious RunFree2030 vision: scaling our efforts to treat 70% of children born with clubfoot in the next 5 years.
Together, we move closer to a future where every child walks with confidence. You can support this life-changing community outreach by making a donation or becoming a volunteer today at cure.org.in/donate.
