Empowering the Architects of Change: BSW Students from Aditi Mahavidyalaya Conclude Transformative Internship with CURE India

At CURE India, we have long recognized that the next generation of social workers is not just the future of our sector—they are the active catalysts of our present impact. We are immensely proud to celebrate the successful internship completion of a talented cohort of Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) students from Aditi Mahavidyalaya, University of Delhi.

Having dedicated their time from August 2025 through April 2026, these students immersed themselves in the heart of our operations, contributing significantly to the #WE10 programme. The conclusion of their journey was marked by a certificate distribution ceremony where our Director, Dr. Santhosh George, honored their commitment to service and their vital role in our ongoing mission to transform lives.

A Deep Dive into the #WE10 Ecosystem

Over the course of their eight-month internship, the students engaged with the multi-dimensional pillars of the #WE10 initiative. This wasn't just an observational role; it was an experiential deep dive into the realities of humanitarian service. Their journey included:

  • Child Rehabilitation Advocacy: Gaining firsthand insight into the Ponseti method for treating clubfoot and understanding how early intervention changes a child’s lifelong mobility.
  • Community Outreach: Participating in field-based mobilization, helping to bridge the gap between rural families and clinical support.
  • Social Impact Awareness: Leading campaigns that demystify congenital disabilities and promote a culture of inclusion.
  • Sustainable Development: Understanding the holistic approach of the #WE10 programme, which weaves together healthcare, nutrition, disability inclusion, and environmental sustainability.

The Vision for Social Change

During the interaction session, Dr. Santhosh George highlighted that students of social work bring a unique blend of "fresh perspectives and unwavering compassion" that is essential to any successful NGO. He encouraged the interns to carry the lessons of leadership, accountability, and community-centric development into their future careers.

"Students pursuing social work are the backbone of community-driven NGOs. Their selfless volunteering and academic rigor bring a standard of excellence to our mission. This cohort from Aditi Mahavidyalaya has demonstrated not just professional growth, but a deep, empathetic connection to the children we serve."Dr. Santhosh George, Director, CURE India
