Setting the Standard: CURE India Equips 130 Doctors in West Bengal with Advanced Clubfoot Skills to Accelerate the Goal of a Clubfoot-Free India

CURE India’s strategic commitment to capacity building and establishing a world-class standard of care was powerfully demonstrated in West Bengal. In collaboration with the Government of West Bengal, we successfully organized an Advanced Training Workshop on the Ponseti Method at North Bengal Medical College & Hospital (NBMCH) on November 21, 2025.
This landmark event marked CURE India's 159th national training program, providing essential skills to nearly 130 doctors across the state. The workshop was led by world-renowned experts: Dr. Mathew Varghese (Hon. Medical Director, CURE India) and Dr. Nirmal Gopinathan. Their expertise ensures that participants receive the highest level of instruction in the non-surgical Ponseti method, the gold standard for clubfoot treatment.
The impact of this work transcends clinical numbers. During the workshop, a special appreciation was shared by Swami Binayo Nanda Maharaj of the Ramakrishna Mission, publicly recognizing CURE India’s life-changing transformation of over 1,22,000+ children! This profound social impact underscores our mission’s success.
Our Founder Director, Dr. Santhosh George, took the opportunity to reaffirm CURE India’s ambitious goal: our commitment to establishing clubfoot clinics in every district of India by 2030. This vision ensures that every child, regardless of location, has access to free treatment.
With 462 weekly clinics operating across India, including the dedicated clinic at NBMCH led by Dr. Partho Sarathi Sarkar, CURE India continues to strengthen early intervention and ensure quality care for every child and their families.
Heartfelt gratitude is extended to all participants, expert trainers, dedicated doctors, and health officials whose active involvement made this training impactful and meaningful. Your contributions are crucial in shaping a stronger, more inclusive clubfoot care ecosystem.
As one of the Top 10 NGO's in the country, known for its credibility and transparency of fund usage, CURE India invites your support. Your donation helps us run these vital training programs and bring us closer to our RunFree2030 goal of treating 70% of children born with clubfoot in the next 5 years.
Together, we are moving closer to a clubfoot-free India!
