Empowering Communities in Shillong: CURE India's Participation in Purple Fair Highlights Clubfoot Awareness

On August 27, 2025, CURE India was honored to participate in the Purple Fair at the Soso Tham Auditorium in Shillong, Meghalaya. Organized by CRC-SRE Shillong, this event was a powerful celebration of abilities and a dynamic platform for promoting inclusion, accessibility, and empowerment for people with disabilities. Our presence was a testament to our unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the chance to walk with dignity and confidence.

The fair provided a unique and inspiring opportunity to connect with the community. With the unwavering support of our dedicated volunteer, our beneficiary families were not only able to join this inclusive celebration but also served as a source of inspiration for countless others. Seeing these children, once born with clubfoot, now walking and thriving, is a powerful reminder of the life-changing impact of timely care. Their journey is a living testament to the transformative power of compassion, accessibility, and, most importantly, hope. Their stories resonated with attendees, motivating others to believe in a future free from disability.

Our Credible Mission: Scaling Hope and Healing

This event is a cornerstone of our strategic efforts for a nationwide impact. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children, and our robust national presence with 452 clinics is a testament to our reach. Our work is not possible without the support of our incredible community of donors and volunteers. We are honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that speaks volumes about our credibility and our profound commitment to the transparency of fund usage. Your generous donation is the engine that powers these vital awareness campaigns, outreach programs, and clinics, allowing us to provide free treatment to every child who needs it.

By participating in events like the Purple Fair, we are not just raising Shillong Clubfoot Awareness; we are building bridges, forging partnerships, and demonstrating to the community that a brighter, more mobile future is possible. We are actively engaging with the public and with government bodies to ensure our message of hope reaches every corner of the country.

A Collective Journey Towards a Clubfoot-Free Future

Our work is driven by an urgent and inspiring vision for the future. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This is a mission that we can only achieve by working hand-in-hand with partners, volunteers, and compassionate individuals like you. Every person who learns about the Ponseti method and the importance of early intervention becomes a catalyst for change.

We are building a future where every child can walk with confidence and dignity. Your support is crucial to making a lasting difference. Together, we can eradicate clubfoot disability and create a healthier, more inclusive India for everyone.

Join us in our mission to heal little feet and transform lives. Your support is vital to creating a healthier, more inclusive India. You can also become a volunteer and make a tangible difference. Donate today at cure.org.in/donate.
