Classroom to Community: How School Awareness Programs are Transforming Lives in Rajasthan

The classroom is often the first place where the seeds of social change are planted. While schools are centers for academic learning, they are also powerful hubs for health advocacy. In Rajasthan, CURE India is leveraging these spaces to ensure that no child lives with a preventable disability like clubfoot.
Today, our dedicated District Program Coordinator (DPC), Ms. Rachna Bishnoi, led a successful clubfoot awareness session at a local school. By engaging with students, teachers, and administrative staff, she turned an ordinary school day into a life-changing opportunity for the community.
The session was designed to be interactive and informative, focusing on the fundamental truth that clubfoot is 100% treatable. By educating the school community, Ms. Bishnoi addressed several critical objectives:
Awareness at the grassroots level is the most effective way to reach underserved families. Teachers are trusted voices in their communities; when a teacher understands that clubfoot is treatable, they become a vital link in the referral chain, guiding parents toward Free Treatment and medical care.
By reducing stigma within the school environment, we also ensure that children currently undergoing treatment feel supported and included by their peers.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the school management and teaching staff in Rajasthan for welcoming us and prioritizing the health of their community. It is through these collaborations that we move closer to a world where every child can walk, run, and attend school with absolute dignity.
A special salute to Ms. Rachna Bishnoi for her passion and dedication to our mission in the desert state. Every session like this brings us one step closer to our #RunFree2030 goal.
Help us educate more communities. Every step toward awareness is a step toward a future where no child is left behind.
