From Classroom to Community: Why Telangana School Awareness is Key to a Clubfoot-Free India

The journey towards a ClubfootFreeIndia is powered by education, and recently, our dedicated team member from CURE India took this vital mission to the heart of the community: the Government School in Bandapally village, Kamareddy district, Telangana. This focused awareness session brought together teachers and students, serving as a powerful platform to spread vital knowledge about clubfoot disability and the life-altering importance of early treatment. This commitment to grassroots outreach in rural Telangana is a crucial StepTowardsHope, ensuring that geographic location never dictates a child’s future mobility.
The strategy of conducting Telangana School Awareness programs is foundational to our mission. Teachers are often the most stable and trusted source of information in a village and are perfectly positioned to be frontline identifiers. By educating them on how to spot the condition early and the urgent need for referral, we activate an invaluable network of surveillance. Furthermore, engaging students turns them into powerful, passionate advocates, who take the message home to their families and neighbors. The enthusiastic participation from both students and teachers at the school demonstrated a community ready to work towards ensuring EveryChildMatters and receives the non-surgical Ponseti method of free treatment during the critical window of infancy. Timely identification and referral can truly change a child's life forever.
This kind of dedicated, ground-level outreach underpins the massive social impact and credibility of our work. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children and transformed countless lives. Our ability to execute these awareness campaigns across our extensive national presence is why we are honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India. This recognition is a testament to our ethical stewardship and the complete transparency of fund usage, which ensures that every donation directly supports vital educational initiatives in communities like Bandapally.
However, the task of reaching every single child remains urgent. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This aggressive expansion relies heavily on increasing the frequency of School Awareness programs and empowering more dedicated volunteers to lead these sessions. We invite the public, medical professions, and donors to partner with us. Your continued support provides the resources necessary to fuel this educational expansion, turning every classroom into a beacon of hope for children with clubfoot.
With such school visits, CURE India continues its mission to educate, empower, and ensure no child is left untreated for clubfoot. We extend our sincere gratitude to the teachers and students of the Government School in Bandapally for their commitment to this cause.
