On the Ground: Dedicated Delhi Clubfoot Awareness Outreach Ensures Early Intervention in Communities

The mission to ensure every child born with clubfoot walks into a healthier future is a continuous effort that requires dedication at the deepest grassroots level. Recently, our committed Delhi CURE India team, led by the tireless efforts of Ms Anamika, Ms Rosabella, Ms Lalita, Ms Richa, and Ms Barkha, spearheaded an impactful awareness drive across dense urban and suburban areas, including Bhajan Pura, Chattarpur, Tihar village, and Mangolpuri. Their approach was comprehensive and empathetic, reaching where people gather and live—Anganwadi centres, local clinics, homes, and even local pharmacies. This direct outreach is essential for transforming lives, ensuring that vital information bridges the gap between the community and the clinic.
During these visits, the team not only spread crucial ClubfootAwareness on how to identify and treat the condition early, but they also engaged in crucial, personalized counselling. A standout moment was the sensitization of families of a child with a disability in Mangolpuri about the life-changing possibilities of treatment. This crucial interaction moved beyond general awareness, providing tailored hope and a clear pathway to the non-surgical Ponseti method—the global standard for free treatment. Such collective efforts ensure that children born with clubfoot are guided towards timely Early Intervention, enabling them to avoid lifelong disability. This dedicated, community-level work forms the compassionate core of our massive national presence.
This grassroots commitment from our team is the foundation of our operational credibility. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children and transformed countless lives. The successful execution of this Delhi Clubfoot Awareness Outreach is a direct reflection of our ethical operations. We are honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that is a testament to our steadfast commitment to the transparency of fund usage and maximizing social impact. Every kilometre walked by our team, every conversation held with a parent, is a direct delivery of the resources provided by our donors, reinforcing the profound impact of their generosity.
However, the need to expand this essential work remains urgent. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. Scaling to this level requires increasing the capacity of our dedicated teams across the country. We invite all citizens and medical professions to partner with us. Your financial donation provides the resources necessary to support and expand these incredible outreach teams, while your time as a volunteer helps amplify our message in communities like those in Delhi.
Such collective efforts ensure that children born with clubfoot are guided towards timely intervention, enabling them to walk into a healthier and brighter future. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms Anamika, Ms Rosabella, Ms Lalita, Ms Richa, Ms Barkha, and all the community members who opened their doors.
