From Hardship to Hope: Why the Pankh NGO Collaboration is Vital for Child Empowerment

CURE India was profoundly honored to welcome Mr Ajjay Bhatia, Ex-Addl. SP and the dedicated founder of Pankh NGO. His Inspiring Journey—dedicating his life to transforming vulnerable children, guiding them from social hardship to hope—is a powerful testament to the fact that EveryChildMatters. The mission of Pankh NGO, which focuses on providing dignity, growth, and the chance to dream big, resonates deeply with our own commitment to restoring physical dignity and opportunity for children born with clubfoot. This visit underscored a shared belief that a BrighterFuture is not a privilege, but a fundamental right secured by holistic support and decisive action.
The synergy between our organizations, though addressing different forms of vulnerability, is seamless. Pankh NGO works to remove the social barriers that threaten a child’s future ("From Crime To Hope"), while CURE India works to remove the physical barriers caused by clubfoot. For children already facing social hardship, the added burden of a disability like clubfoot can compound their challenges. Our collaboration, which we term the Pankh NGO Collaboration, is vital for ensuring that these vulnerable families are identified and that their children receive immediate, high-quality ClubfootCare. We ensure that this care, based on the non-surgical Ponseti method, is provided as free treatment, removing any financial hurdle that could obstruct their path to mobility and ChildEmpowerment.
This focused, ethical approach is the foundation of our organizational credibility. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children, and our success is inextricably linked to partnerships that extend our reach to those most in need. We are immensely proud to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction earned through our relentless dedication to maximizing social impact and upholding the complete transparency of fund usage. The inspiration derived from Changemakers like Mr. Bhatia strengthens our resolve to expand our massive national presence and ensure that every donation translates into dignity and hope for children across all socio-economic spectra.
The challenge ahead requires sustained, urgent commitment. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This aggressive target requires not only the medical infrastructure but also the grassroots reach provided by partners like Pankh NGO, who help us find and counsel the most marginalized families. We invite the general public, medical professionals, and donors to become Changemakers themselves. Your support provides the necessary resources to support partnerships that deliver this holistic care. Whether through a financial donation or dedicating your time to volunteer, your commitment will help us empower children to truly dream big.
Together, with dedicated partners and inspiring leaders, we believe in brighter futures where every child walks free and lives with dignity.
