Empowering the Frontline: CURE India's Digital Outreach to ASHA Workers in Maharashtra

At CURE India, we know that the journey to a clubfoot-free India begins at the grassroots level. Our frontline heroes, the ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers, are a vital link between communities and healthcare. We are proud to have leveraged technology to strengthen this bond through a series of virtual awareness meetings conducted on July 30, 2025, with ASHA workers across Maharashtra.

These sessions are part of our deep commitment to empower these healthcare professionals with the knowledge they need to transform young lives. By strengthening their ability to identify and refer children born with clubfoot early, we ensure that no child is left behind.

The virtual meetings saw incredible participation across different regions:

• In Amboli PHC, Pune, 13 ASHAs participated, supported by our dedicated team members Mrs. Raut (BF) and Manisha (DPC).
• In Vatangi PHC, Kolhapur, 56 ASHAs joined the session, guided by Mrs. Dore (BF), Mrs. Badvankar (BF), and Mrs. Patil (BF), with additional contributions from Ekta (DPC).
• In Dehane PHC, Pune, 33 ASHAs actively engaged, supported by Mrs. Darekar (BF), Mrs. Bhaware (BF), and Mrs. Bhalerao (BF).

The enthusiasm and dedication shown by the ASHA workers and our field teams were truly inspiring. Their commitment ensures that our mission of providing free treatment to all affected children is a reality.

CURE India is the largest clubfoot program in the world, a position we've earned through relentless effort and a robust national presence. We have treated the most number of clubfoot children globally, making a profound social impact. We are also proud to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a testament to our steadfast credibility and our commitment to transparency of fund usage. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This is an urgent and hopeful goal that we can only achieve by empowering healthcare champions like the ASHA workers and with the support of our incredible donors.
