CURE India successfully conducted its 177th Medical Training on the Ponseti Method of Clubfoot Management on 25 October 2026 at the Department of Pediatric Orthopaedics, King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. The event also marked the 4th KGMU Clubfoot Programme, bringing together medical professionals from across Uttar Pradesh to strengthen their knowledge and practical skills in clubfoot treatment.
The programme welcomed 158 participants, including 120 doctors, representing several cities and districts across Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Raebareli, Varanasi, Bareilly, Ayodhya, Kannauj, Saifai, Gorakhpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Jhansi, and Kanpur.
The day was filled with learning, knowledge sharing, and practical demonstrations. Through expert-led sessions and hands-on practice, participating doctors gained valuable insights into the Ponseti method, a widely used non-surgical approach to treating clubfoot in children.
The training focused on helping doctors strengthen their clinical skills so they can provide appropriate treatment in their respective hospitals and help more children access timely care.
By equipping healthcare professionals with practical knowledge and treatment techniques, CURE India continues to support the expansion of quality clubfoot care across Uttar Pradesh.
CURE India was honoured to welcome Prof. Soniya Nityanand, Vice Chancellor of KGMU, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Ajai Singh, Vice Chancellor of Saifai Medical College, as the Guest of Honour.
The programme also benefited from the presence and support of Dr. Vikas Verma, Head of Department at KGMU; Dr. Suresh Chand; Dr. Atula Jamir; and Ms. Ruby Singh of HCLFoundation.
Their participation reflected the importance of collaboration between medical institutions, healthcare professionals, and organizations working to improve children's health.
CURE India extends its heartfelt gratitude to its Founder and Director, all faculty members and mentors, participating doctors, the CURE India Uttar Pradesh team, and KGMU for their valuable contributions to the success of this training programme.
The successful completion of the 177th training represents another important step towards strengthening clinical capacity and expanding access to effective clubfoot treatment.
Clubfoot is treatable, and early intervention can make a life-changing difference. By empowering doctors with the right knowledge and skills, CURE India continues to work towards a future where children with clubfoot can receive timely treatment and enjoy greater mobility.
Together, through medical education, collaboration, and compassionate care, we are helping give every child the chance to walk, play, and grow with confidence.
