Culmination of Hope and Strategy: Concluding the North East Programme Evaluation in Kohima

What does it really take to create lasting change for children with clubfoot? It takes committed people, continuous learning, deep collaboration, and an unwavering willingness to improve every step of the journey.

CURE India successfully concluded its intensive three-day North East Programme Evaluation & Staff Capacity Building initiative in Kohima, Nagaland. Bringing together our dedicated Clubfoot Counsellors from across the region, the final day served as a powerful culmination of review, strategic alignment, and renewed purpose.

Focusing on Family-Centred Care and Action Planning

While the opening days established baseline evaluations and shared field experiences, Day 3 centered on translating insights into concrete, actionable strategies:

  • Refining Family-Centred Care: Counsellors explored advanced techniques to support parents emotionally and practically, ensuring families remain engaged from the initial casting phase through long-term bracing with Foot Abduction Braces (FABs).
  • Actionable Roadmaps: Teams developed targeted regional action plans to streamline follow-ups, enhance data tracking, and bridge gaps in remote outreach.
  • The Power of the Ponseti Standard: Reinforced training on the Ponseti method ensured every counsellor is equipped to champion non-surgical, gold-standard care in their home districts.

Unified Leadership Across State Lines

The success of the three-day initiative was driven by expert facilitation from our national leadership:

  • Dr. Santhosh George, Director & Founder, CURE India
  • Dr. Atula Jamir, Program Manager
  • Mr. Anand, CURE India National Team

We extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible regional teams from Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Sikkim, as well as our Assam team for joining virtually. Your active participation, invaluable field insights, and relentless dedication are the bedrock of our success in the North East.

"Together, we are building stronger programmes so that every child with clubfoot receives timely treatment and the opportunity to walk towards a brighter future."

CURE India: Scaling Impact with Credibility

As one of the Top 10 NGO’s in India, CURE India manages the largest clubfoot program in the world. Our rigorous approach to staff capacity building is backed by absolute transparency of fund usage and institutional credibility. Every training workshop and evaluation session brings us closer to our national target: treating 70% of all children born with clubfoot in India by 2030 (#RunFree2030).

How You Can Support the Mission:

  1. Support Our Teams: Your donations directly fund regional training programs, counsellor resources, and outreach logistics in remote areas like the North East. Give today at cure.org.in/donate.
  2. Spread the Word: Help us raise awareness about clubfoot treatment. When communities know that effective care is available locally and free of cost, children get treated earlier.
  3. Stay Connected: Follow our social media channels to see how these regional action plans come to life in communities across the North East!

Together, we are empowering our teams to ensure that no child in India is left behind.
