Localized Impact: CURE India’s Outreach in Bardhaman Ensures Families Have the Knowledge to Cure Clubfoot

The key to transforming a child's life with clubfoot often begins not in a clinic, but in the community itself. On November 3, 2025, this principle was put into action in Bardhaman, West Bengal, where our dedicated team member, Ms. Pinky Ghosh (DPC – Burdwan), conducted a focused community outreach visit.
The purpose of this essential awareness initiative was to engage directly with local families, caregivers, and community members. Through these interactions, the CURE India team shared vital information about clubfoot: a congenital condition that is completely treatable. The message of hope was clear—with timely intervention using the non-surgical Ponseti method, every child can gain the ability to walk, run, and live without the limitations of a correctable deformity.
These grassroots efforts are indispensable. By meeting community members where they live, we break down the barriers of misinformation and ensure that families understand that free treatment is readily available through the CURE India program. This localized approach is critical to ensuring early detection and prompt referral, which are paramount to a child's successful correction and long-term mobility.
CURE India’s tireless work in states like West Bengal reinforces our vast national presence and fuels our massive social impact. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, having treated the most number of clubfoot children, our achievements are rooted in the dedication of coordinators like Ms. Ghosh. We take pride in our credibility as one of the Top 10 NGO's in the country, an honour secured by our commitment to transparency of fund usage.
We are dedicated to moving closer to our ambitious RunFree2030 vision: scaling our efforts to treat 70% of children born with clubfoot in the next 5 years. Together, through community action and widespread support, we are ensuring that no child is left behind because of a correctable deformity.
