Eradicating Disability at the Roots: Parbhani Clubfoot Outreach Touches Over 130 Lives in Pingali Kothala

The vision of eradicating clubfoot disability from India requires dedication that reaches every remote corner, and on October 1, 2025, CURE India celebrated a major step forward with a successful Clubfoot Awareness Program in Pingali Kothala village, Parbhani, Maharashtra. Our committed team member, Mrs. Lata Tulshiram Jadhav, was instrumental in a comprehensive outreach effort that engaged with over 130 participants, ensuring that the message of hope and healing reached the most critical community pillars. This multi-sectoral approach in Parbhani underscores our belief that every single child deserves the chance to walk freely.
The strategy behind the Parbhani Clubfoot Outreach was deliberate and effective, targeting key institutions essential for early detection. Mrs. Jadhav engaged deeply with both the educational and healthcare sectors. Visits to the Z.P. (Urdu) Primary School and the Z.P. Girls High School, with the valuable support of principals Mrs A.A. Momin and Mrs Shaikh Nikhat Parveen, transformed teachers into frontline identifiers. Simultaneously, essential visits to the Primary Health Centre (engaging the Medical Officer) and three Anganwadi centres ensured that health workers and new parents were informed about the availability of the non-surgical Ponseti method and free treatment. By informing teachers, health workers, and families, we create a robust safety net, guaranteeing that children born with clubfoot are guided toward timely intervention.
This dedicated, community-level work is the very engine of our organization’s social impact and credibility. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children, and it is the tireless effort of team members like Mrs. Jadhav that ensures our expertise reaches far beyond major city centres. We are honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that attests to our unwavering commitment to ethical practice and the complete transparency of fund usage. The enthusiastic response from the community in Maharashtra reflects their growing commitment toward our shared goal, validating the effectiveness of every single donation we receive.
However, despite these heartening successes, the challenge of reaching every child remains urgent. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. Our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This aggressive expansion relies heavily on increasing the number of dedicated field teams and supporting the logistics of rural outreach across our massive national presence. We invite the general public, medical professionals, and donors to become active partners in this mission. Whether through a financial donation or dedicating your time to volunteer, your support provides the momentum needed to replicate this powerful model across thousands of villages.
The enthusiastic response from the Pingali Kothala community reflects a growing commitment in Maharashtra towards eradicating clubfoot disability. Every child deserves the chance to walk freely—your support can make this possible!
