Beyond the Mission: The Spirit of Onam Brings the CURE India Family Together for a Feast of Togetherness

Today, our National Office came alive with the vibrant spirit of Onam! The CURE India Onam Celebration was a beautiful pause in our relentless mission, offering a moment to reflect on our journey. From the traditional Onam Sadhya, with its twenty-plus flavorful dishes, to the pure joy of togetherness, it was a celebration of culture, unity, and deep gratitude. This communal event, steeped in the rich traditions of Kerala, underscored the diverse but unified spirit of the CURE India Family—a team drawn from every corner of the country, working toward one singular vision of a Clubfoot-Free India. We were particularly honoured to have Mr. Chandra Mohan, a prominent writer at Financial Times, India, join us for the festivities, a gesture that highlights the growing public interest and support for the crucial work being done in child health.
The celebration was truly a team effort. We extend a special thanks to our enthusiastic interns from JMC College and Christ College, Kerala, as well as our dedicated Delhi and National Team members, for bringing this vibrant culture to life. The energy and enthusiasm of our team members are the same driving forces that empower us to execute the largest clubfoot program in the world. This internal culture of respect and unity is the unseen engine behind our external success, allowing us to maintain a vast national presence and consistently deliver high-quality free treatment using the globally recognized Ponseti method to the most number of clubfoot children in the country. It is moments like these that strengthen the bonds that allow us to carry out a mission with such immense social impact.
The CURE India Family is proud to operate with the highest standards of integrity. We are honored to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that speaks volumes about our unwavering credibility and our profound commitment to the transparency of fund usage. The trust placed in us by our donors is something we never take for granted; it is the reason we can pause to celebrate traditions like Onam, knowing that our foundation is strong. This celebration of abundance and community reflects the very future we are striving to build for the thousands of families we serve—a future full of opportunity and dignity.
This spirit of hope and unity propels us toward an urgent goal. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This rapid expansion requires tireless effort and sustained support. Just as the Onam festival inspires new hope and a bountiful harvest, we need continued generosity from our donors and the dedication of new volunteers to help us meet this national target. Every rupee of your donation ensures that our dedicated team can continue to heal little feet and spread the light of hope across India.
Here’s to moments of joy, bonding, and the beauty of traditions that bring us all closer. We thank everyone who contributed to this wonderful day and who supports our ongoing mission.
