Celebrating Compassion: Maitreyi College Interns Conclude Their Journey with CURE India
More Than a Certificate: Honoring the Next Generation of Changemakers Dedicated to a #RunFree2030 Future.
At CURE India, we don’t just host internships; we facilitate transformative experiences. It was a day of pride and reflection as we gathered to present internship certificates to the students of Maitreyi College, University of Delhi, marking the successful conclusion of their time with us.
Recognizing Commitment to Social Impact
The ceremony, led by our Director, Dr. Santhosh George, and Dr. Atula Jamir (Manager – Training & Capacity Building), was a celebration of the unique blend of compassion and academic rigor that these students brought to our national mission.
Translating Theory into Action: Over the course of their internship, these students moved beyond the classroom to engage directly with the pillars of our work—community outreach, public health advocacy, and the systematic identification of children born with clubfoot.
The Power of Partnership: We extend our sincere thanks to the Principal and faculty of Maitreyi College. Their trust and collaborative spirit are vital in helping us nurture young, socially responsible leaders who view development as both a professional pursuit and a personal calling.
A Lasting Legacy: The certificates presented today are symbols of a deeper accomplishment: these students have contributed to the operational backbone of the largest clubfoot program in the world, helping us edge closer to our goal of treating 70% of all children born with clubfoot in India by 2030 (#RunFree2030).
"To every intern, thank you for your enthusiasm, compassion, and dedication. Your contributions have strengthened our mission of building an inclusive India where every child has the opportunity to walk, learn, and thrive."
Continuing the Journey
As these interns move forward into their future careers, they carry with them the unique perspective of having seen the Ponseti method change lives firsthand. Their work with CURE India has reinforced the reality that clubfoot is 100% treatable, and that when awareness and empathy lead the way, disability need not be a barrier to a child’s dreams.
