Celebrating Abilities: CURE India's Participation in Purple Fair 2025

On August 22, 2025, CURE India was honored to participate in the Purple Fair of Divyaangjan at the Government High School for Blind in YSR Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh. Hosted by CRC Nellore, this event was a powerful celebration of abilities and a platform for promoting inclusion and accessibility for people with disabilities. The fair was a vibrant gathering, bringing together esteemed dignitaries, district officials, and a diverse group of over 500 participants.

The event featured numerous highlights that underscored its mission: from 17 stalls by NGOs and government departments to cultural programs performed by Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The fair also included the distribution of aids and appliances and the release of the "Kalam Counter" book, all of which contributed to a day filled with hope and empowerment.

CURE India's team members actively participated, using the platform to spread crucial awareness about the free treatment and rehabilitation of children born with birth defects like clubfoot. Our presence at the fair was a testament to our commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind. We highlighted the power of early intervention through the Ponseti method, reassuring families that clubfoot is a treatable condition and that a life of mobility is a tangible reality for their children.

This event, along with our extensive outreach programs, is a key component of our social impact strategy. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children, and our robust national presence with 452 clinics is a testament to our dedication. We are proud to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction that highlights our unwavering credibility and our profound commitment to transparency of fund usage.

We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. Events like the Purple Fair are vital in helping us achieve this goal by building community and government partnerships.
