Beyond the Clinic: How Partnerships with Well-Wishers like Mr. Himanshu Thakur are Fueling the RunFree2030 Movement

In the bustling atmosphere of the CURE India National Office, every visitor brings a new wave of energy. However, some visits carry a special weight—the weight of long-term friendship and shared vision. We were recently delighted to welcome Mr. Himanshu Thakur, a long-time well-wisher of our mission, to our headquarters.
Mr. Thakur’s journey—from a distinguished career at the Indian Oil Corporation to founding ChQMe—is a testament to the power of individual initiative. But more importantly, his visit reminds us that the fight against Clubfoot is not a solitary medical battle; it is a collective social movement. As one of the Top 10 NGO's in India, CURE India (or simply CURE) thrives on these partnerships. We believe that when industry leaders and social innovators align, the path to a disability-free India becomes much shorter.
For an organization recognized as a Top 10 NGO in the country, our credibility is our most valuable currency. When individuals like Mr. Thakur take the time to visit, it isn't just a social call; it is a validation of our social impact and our transparency of fund usage.
At the National Office, we aren't just managing files; we are managing the largest clubfoot program in the world. To date, CURE India has documented the most number of clubfoot children treated globally—over 125,000 lives transformed and counting. For a visitor, seeing the data and meeting the team behind these numbers makes the "miracle" of a child walking for the first time feel tangible.
During such visits, we often discuss the technical heart of our work. For the general public and our partners, it is vital to understand that clubfoot is a 100% treatable condition. We utilize the Ponseti method, the globally recognized non-surgical gold standard.
The treatment is simple but requires immense discipline:
The biggest challenge isn't the science; it's the accessibility. This is why CURE India provides Free Treatment and free braces to every child in our program. By removing the financial barrier for families, we ensure that a child's mobility is never determined by their parents' income.
While we celebrate our status as a top-tier non-profit, we are driven by a sense of urgent responsibility. Currently, CURE India is treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. While 33% represents a monumental effort, it means that nearly 7 out of 10 children are still waiting for help.
Our RunFree2030 initiative is our commitment to change this statistic. Over the next 5 years, we are scaling up to 70% coverage across the nation. This expansion requires more than just more clinics; it requires more voices. It requires partners, well-wishers, and medical professionals to stand with us and say that no child should grow up unable to walk due to a treatable condition.
The visit from Mr. Himanshu Thakur serves as an open invitation to all. Whether you are a corporate leader, a student, a medical professional, or a concerned citizen, our doors are open. We warmly welcome you to visit our National Office to:
Every child who walks is a victory for the entire country. We invite you to be a part of these victories:
Together, we can ensure that every child—regardless of where they are born—takes their first steps toward a brighter, more mobile future. Let’s make India run free.
