Bridging the Gap: Academic Excellence & Experiential Learning at CURE India

Education is evolving. It is no longer confined to the four walls of a lecture hall; it is found in the field, in clinical research, and through direct community engagement. Today, CURE India celebrated a major academic milestone by hosting the IAPC Viva for 45 bright students from Maitri College, University of Delhi.

This event was a powerful display of how theoretical knowledge, when paired with hands-on experience, creates a transformative learning environment for the healthcare leaders of tomorrow.

The Power of Experiential Learning

The 45 participating students presented research that went beyond mere academic requirements. Their work reflected a deep dive into the healthcare and social sectors, showcasing:

  • Critical Thinking: Analyzing the complexities of disability and healthcare access in India.
  • Real-World Understanding: Applying classroom theories to the actual challenges faced by families and medical professionals.
  • Social Impact: Demonstrating a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of underserved populations.

NEP and the Future of Education

A major highlight of the day was an insightful discussion led by Prof. Smriti Singh. Speaking on the National Education Policy (NEP), she emphasized the vital importance of experiential learning.

Prof. Singh highlighted how internships at organizations like CURE India are essential for shaping students into "socially conscious professionals." By stepping outside the classroom, students gain the empathy and practical skills that simply cannot be taught through textbooks alone.

A Rigorous Academic Standard

The viva was conducted with the highest level of professional and academic rigor. We were honored to have Dr. Santhosh George, Founder of CURE India, serve as the External Examiner. Working alongside Prof. Smriti Singh and esteemed faculty members, the examination process ensured that the students' research was challenged and refined by industry experts.
