Awareness Today, Mobility Tomorrow: CURE India's Partnership with ASHA Workers in Madhya Pradesh

At CURE India, we firmly believe that a Clubfoot-Free India is a goal we can achieve by empowering communities from the ground up. This belief was at the heart of our recent awareness program in Bilkisganj, Madhya Pradesh, where our dedicated team organized a vital session with our ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) sisters. This initiative was focused on a simple yet profound message: awareness today leads to mobility tomorrow.

During the program, we discussed the critical importance of early identification and free treatment of clubfoot. The ASHA workers, who are our frontline heroes, are in a unique position to spot the condition in newborns and guide their families toward the correct care. By meeting with ASHA supervisors, we were able to strengthen our network and build a valuable partnership for future collaborations. This joint effort marks another significant step towards ensuring that no child in our communities is left untreated.

This collaboration is a cornerstone of our strategy for sustainable impact. By working hand-in-hand with ASHA workers, we are creating a sustainable pathway for timely referrals and treatment. This model ensures that children receive care early, when the gentle, non-surgical Ponseti method is most effective.

CURE India is the largest clubfoot program in the world, with the most number of clubfoot children treated. We are proud to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a testament to our unwavering credibility and our profound commitment to transparency of fund usage. Your generous donation is the engine that powers these vital awareness programs and our extensive network of clinics.

We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. This is an urgent and hopeful goal that we can only achieve by working together with partners like the ASHA network.
