Empowering 56 Doctors: Mumbai Ponseti Training Boosts Advanced Skills in Clubfoot Treatment

On September 7, 2025, CURE India successfully conducted its 154th Advanced Ponseti Medical Training at LTMMC, Sion, Mumbai, continuing our vital mission to empower doctors with advanced skills in the life-changing treatment of clubfoot. Held in the Medical Seminar Hall, the session began with a warm welcome and introduction by Dr. Binoti Seth, Professor and Unit Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at LTMMC and General Hospital, setting the tone for an impactful day of learning. The training was officially inaugurated by Dr. Swati Manerkar, HOD of the Neonatology Department, LTMMC, who emphasized the critical importance of early intervention—a cornerstone of effective Child Health management. The participation of 56 dedicated doctors from across the region reflected a strong, collective commitment toward creating a future where no child suffers from untreated clubfoot.
Our expert faculty, led by Dr. Mathew Verghese, Hon. Medical Director of CURE India, and Dr. Binoti Seth, guided the participants through sessions rich with deep insights, practical demonstrations, and evidence-based approaches. This intensive Mumbai Ponseti Training ensures that every doctor is equipped to apply the Ponseti method more effectively in their clinical practice, guaranteeing the highest standard of care for children and their families. By collaborating with esteemed institutions like LTMMC, we are systematically building a strong, skilled network across our extensive national presence, which is crucial for achieving our ultimate goal.
This advanced training initiative is a direct reflection of our global standing and commitment to credibility. As the largest clubfoot program in the world, we have treated the most number of clubfoot children, transforming lives through the consistent provision of free treatment. We are proud to be recognized as one of the Top 10 NGOs/Non-Profits in India, a distinction earned through our unwavering dedication to the transparency of fund usage and maximized social impact. The continuous professional development of doctors through programs like this one is the foundation of our success and ensures that every donation translates directly into expert, accessible care.
Our work is driven by an urgent and hopeful vision for the future. We are currently treating 33% of children born with clubfoot in India. However, our ambitious RunFree2030 initiative is focused on scaling up our efforts to reach 70% of these children in the next five years. Training over 50 doctors in a single day is an exponential step towards that target, demonstrating the rapid growth required to achieve this goal. We need sustained partnership from the public and donors to support this continuous training and the expansion of our services to families who need them most. Whether through financial contribution or dedicating your time to volunteer, your support provides the essential resources needed to heal little feet.
CURE India is profoundly thankful to all the faculty, participants, and partners whose dedication made this training a success. Together, step by step, we move closer to our vision: a world free from disability caused by clubfoot.
